security Camera for night vision

Question:

I live on a small farm and have open fields on all 4 sides of my house. Like to know your pick for security camera system for a good distance out. Mostly at night is what I'm inerested in.
And what hand held night vision is the best that is legal.
I live in CA.

You certainly will want to check your local laws, but most night vision cameras are legal if installed on your private property.
