Can I record on the internet simultaneously as the cctv dvr?

Question:

After installation of a cctv security system, I will be able to view the recording over the last few days on the dvd player or watch live on the internet.
Can the live recordings be record on the internet too, so if the dvr gets stolen I can still see whodunit?

Answer:

The quick answer is that it depends. Many of the DVR manufacturers today provide additional software that you can install on a PC that gives you some additional options like being able to record directly to the PC.

I would check with the DVRs manufacturers that you are looking at and see what additional software they provide and what the capabilities are.

You can usually backup from the DVR to your computer as well. Again it just depends on the services the manufacturer provides.
