An auto iris feature is required in order to achieve this. Varifocal lenses are contrasted with fixed focal lenses, which are less expensive and often allow more light to pass through them at their set length, enabling better detection in low light circumstances. Varifocal lenses are also typically a manual adjustment that you would set on the security camera at installation and would not change it. Typical VariFocal lens lengths are: 2.6-6mm, 4-9mm, 9-22mm and 5-50mm.
