It is used inside of Internet Explorer and allows the video to be streamed from the device through the internet and to the browser. It is also commonly used in IP Security Cameras allowing the user to access the camera directly through a web browser. You can also embed video images from IP Cameras into a web page if the camera has RTSP protocols.

Remote viewing of video security images is a very key benefit in the security camera systems in use today. It allows someone the freedom to be able to always check in on their business or operation and see that what is happening. If you have employee's its always a good idea to call them and thank them for something you saw them do and ask them to take care of something you noticed on the video from the cameras. Doing this once a week or so will let your employee's know you are watching the business and care about what happens even when your not there.
